Welcome to the Sheldon Community
Sheldon is proud to support our community in a variety of ways, specifically to keep you informed of what is going on in the Sheldon world. You can keep in touch with the goings on of our company live via Twitter, or check us out on Facebook and become a fan. We often offer special rewards to those who support us in the online communities.
HomePlate Volunteering
Our Sales & Marketing team volunteered at HomePlate, an organization that supports the positive development of young people through community building, education, access to services, and youth empowerment. We cooked and served dinner to 20 teenagers. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the delicious food!
Cell Phones For Soldiers Program
Sheldon employees recently collected all of their old cell phones for the Cell Phones For Soldiers program. The Cell Phones for Soldiers' mission is to help our troops call home. This program recycles old cell phones and uses the money they receive for them to buy prepaid calling card minutes for U.S. troops stationed overseas. The average recycled phone provides a soldier with 100 minutes of chatting with their loved ones. It feels great to support our troops in every way that we can!
Employee Activities: Planting Trees
We recently teamed up with SOLV to help plant native tree saplings along the Tualatin River. Our close ties with Clean Water Services and SOLV keeps us abreast of community activities. The reclamation project for the Tualatin RIver is an important part of our community.
The reclamation project focuses on the idea that the trees will grow and shade out the grass species that are over crowding the wetlands. Without the dense grass, more native species flourish creating great biodiversity.
Our employees, family and friends have a great time at these types of events. We get outside, laugh, work and accomplish something.
