  1.

Removing the valtronics board and sensor.

    1.    Disconnect power.

    2.    Remove top and pull control drawer out.

    3.    Locate IR transmitter board. Locate 12 volt power supply board.

    4.    Disconnect the output leads on the power supply board. (These are the wires that go to the IR board.)

    5.    Disconnect the sensor cable from the IR board.

    6.    Follow the sensor cable to where it enters the chamber. Clip the wire ties that hold the cable to the shadow box being careful not to cut anything else. Remove the sensor cable.

    7.    Unplug the signal wire from the CO2 control board.

    8.    Remove the 4 small Phillips head screws that hold the IR board to the control drawer and remove the IR board and wiring.

    9.     Inside the chamber, locate the IR sensor. The IR sensor is fastened to the copper injection plate with 4 small Phillips head screws. Remove the screws and pull the sensor down. You have now removed the Valtronics IR sensor and transmitter board. Discard these parts.

    Installing the DCS sensor

    10.     The DCS IR sensor consists of a sensor head with a narrow circuit board fastened to it. On the other end of the circuit board is a 14 pin shrouded cable connector (Not used) and a 5 pin OEM connector. There are two pairs of wires coming off this connector, these wires go as follows: One pair (brown and red) go to the output side of the 12 volt power supply. This pair of wires has a red 4 pin connector on end and is the power for the sensor. The other pair of wires (black and white) go to the CO2 control board. This pair of wires have a white 2 pin connector on the end and is the signal to the to the control board The signal is scaled to 0 to 1 volt dc equals 0 to 20 % CO2.

    11.    Put Perma-gum on the mounting flange. Put the red silicone gasket on top of the Perma-gum lining up the mounting holes in the gasket with the holes in the mounting flange.

    12.    Put the wires and the narrow circuit board up through the hole in the copper injection plate. Fasten the sensor in place using the small Phillips screws that were removed from the old sensor. Make sure that mounting flange on the sensor seals to the injection plate.

    13.     Inside the shadow box, take the wires from the sensor and run them along with the rest of the wires going to the control drawer.

    14.    Plug the red connector onto the DC power supply 12 VDC output and the white connector onto the CO2 control board.
